The Interim Chief Advisor, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, is set to hold the fourth round of dialogue with political parties following his recent appointment. This meeting is part of a continuous effort to engage in discussions with various political groups.

The dialogue will take place at the Chief Advisor’s official residence, Jamuna, on Saturday (October 19) at 3 PM. Invitations have been sent to several parties, including the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Gano Forum, Nationalist Like-Minded Alliance, National Party-BJP (Partha), a 12-party alliance, National Liberation Council, Labor Party, and others.

Leaders from the invited parties have indicated that the main focus of the discussions will be on priority election-related reforms and an electoral roadmap. They plan to present specific proposals for reforms concerning issues such as controlling commodity prices, removing political affiliates from the administration, addressing war crimes, and retracting false cases against opposition leaders and activists during the Awami League’s tenure.

Previously, on October 5, the Chief Advisor held discussions with various groups including BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, Gono Front, Hefazat-e-Islam, the Left Democratic Alliance, Islamic Movement Bangladesh, AB Party, and Gana Adhikar Parishad.

Following the fall of the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina on August 5 due to a popular uprising, Dr. Yunus engaged in his first dialogue with political parties shortly after taking office on August 8. In a speech to the nation on September 11, he announced the establishment of six commissions aimed at reforms in the electoral system, police, judiciary, public administration, constitution, and anti-corruption measures. Recently, the government has also formed four additional reform commissions focusing on health, media, women’s rights, and labor rights.
