In the second phase, the Election Commission (EC) has announced the election schedule for 161 upazila parishads of the country. Voting will be held in these upazilas on May 21.

The election schedule was finalized in the meeting of the Election Commission under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal today Monday.

EC Secretary Md Jahangir Alam announced the schedule after the meeting. According to the announced schedule, the last date for submission of nomination papers in upazilas where elections will be held in the second phase is April 21. Nominations will be selected on April 23. Last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is 30th April. Voting on 21st May.

Elections in 481 upazila parishads of the country will be held in four phases. Earlier, the schedule of 152 upazila elections was announced in the first phase. The first phase of polling will be held on May 8.
