On Wednesday, April 30, Dhaka’s Senior Metropolitan Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib ordered the seizure of several immovable properties following a petition by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), as confirmed by ACC spokesperson Akhtarul Islam. The petition, submitted by ACC Deputy Director Monirul Islam, requested the seizure of properties belonging to Saima Wazed Putul, Sheikh Rehana, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby, and Azmira Siddiq. Among the assets seized is a house worth Tk 4.98 crore in Gulshan's Baridhara area under the name of Saima Wazed. Additionally, 87.70 decimals of land worth over Tk 61.87 lakh in Dighalia, Khulna, are registered under the names of Sheikh Rehana, Saima Wazed, and Sajeeb Wazed Joy. The same amount of land, valued at over Tk 41.24 lakh, is owned by Radwan Mujib and Azmira Siddiq in the same location. Another 19 decimals of land worth Tk 20.50 lakh in Gopalganj’s Tungipara under Sheikh Rehana’s name were also ordered to be seized. The ACC stated in its petition that these assets were discovered during an ongoing investigation into alleged illegal wealth accumulation, and the seizure is necessary to prevent their transfer or sale during the probe.
