Bangladesh Army has deployed members in 58 districts through 206 camps established across the country to provide overall security of public property and important government facilities.

Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said this in a press release on Friday (August 9).

According to ISPR, yesterday (August 8) and today Friday (August 9), two teams of law and order forces led by the army intercepted the prisoners trying to escape from Jamalpur Central Jail and Chittagong Central Jail respectively and secured weapons and ammunition kept in the jail. As well as resisting multiple incidents of vandalism and looting in different areas of the country, the attack of miscreants on a temple in Noakhali district for the safety of minorities was resisted by the army.

The Inter-Army Public Relations Directorate also said that army personnel were deployed to provide security at a camp for forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals in Cox’s Bazar and conducted joint patrols with other law enforcement agencies. Troops have already been deployed in 417 police stations across the country, including 29 police stations in the capital Dhaka, which will speed up police recovery operations for missing weapons. Also, the Bangladesh Army is engaged in the security of various important installations of the country including Banga Bhavan, Prime Minister’s Office, Mohakhali Data Center.

According to ISPR, the mischief of creating panic among the public by spreading rumors through various social media is going on. The countrymen are requested not to be alarmed by such rumours, but to use their own judgment in communicating with the army camp. Bangladesh Army is and will always be with the people for the sake of the people and for any need of the state.
