Ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced its candidates for 237 constituencies. The list was revealed on Monday evening (November 3) at the party chairperson’s political office in Gulshan, where Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the announcement at a press conference.

Earlier, the party’s Standing Committee, led by Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, approved the preliminary list of nominees.

Mirza Fakhrul said, “After 16 long years, Bangladesh is set to hold a national election in February 2026. The BNP has already completed its organizational preparations across the country. As part of that effort, we are announcing our candidates for 237 constituencies. In seats where our allies from the joint movement wish to contest, we have refrained from nominating BNP candidates. They will announce their own nominees in those constituencies.”

According to the list, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will contest from Bogra-7 and Dinajpur-3, while Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman will run from Bogra-6.

In addition, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir himself will contest from Thakurgaon-1, and Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmed, Bir Bikrom, a member of the party’s National Standing Committee, will contest from Bhola-3.
