BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has expressed hope that, with the prayers of millions across the country, Begum Khaleda Zia—seen by many supporters as a symbol of democracy, freedom, and sovereignty—will once again return to the people.
He made the remarks on Wednesday (3 December) at a prayer gathering in front of the BNP’s Nayapaltan headquarters, organized by the Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal seeking Khaleda Zia’s recovery.
Rizvi said that Khaleda Zia has earned the affection of the nation through her lifelong dedication to public welfare. According to him, not only BNP leaders and activists, but people from all walks of life are praying for her health.
He also alleged that Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League imprisoned the BNP Chairperson in what he described as politically motivated cases.
During the event, Rizvi urged the interim government to withdraw the recent hike in soybean oil prices.
