A total of 1,342 people were interviewed for the survey — 674 men and 668 women. Participants came from different income groups, professions, and social backgrounds. The data was collected between 21 and 28 October.
According to the organization conducting the poll, this was a general opinion survey. It reflects nationwide attitudes but does not represent any specific electoral constituency. The sample included individuals who read news online or in print and are likely to vote in the upcoming election. The survey’s confidence level was reported to be 99%.
Who Would Be Best for Prime Minister?
One of the key questions asked respondents: “Among various political leaders, who would be the most suitable prime minister for Bangladesh after the next national election?”
Nearly 37% of respondents felt that Tarique Rahman would be the best choice.
Around 32% expressed support for Shafiqur Rahman, the leader of Jamaat-e-Islami.
About 21% believed Khaleda Zia would be best for the country.
Sheikh Hasina received support from 8.6% of participants.
Nahid Islam was favored by 0.7% of respondents.
Another 0.7% thought Professor Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser of the interim government, would be the most beneficial option.
