Tarique Rahman Entrusts BNP Stronghold in Bogura to Local Leaders
BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has emphasized the importance of Bogura as a key stronghold for the party, saying, “Bogura is the BNP’s stronghold. I am entrusting you with its responsibility. Protect this base and serve its people.”
He made the remarks today, Saturday, at 11 a.m., during a discussion meeting with party leaders from his electoral area, Bogura-6 (Sadar), held at the ballroom of Naz Garden Hotel. The meeting began at 10:30 a.m., during which Tarique Rahman first listened to the views of local leaders.
Addressing the gathering, he stressed the significance of the upcoming election. “Some speakers here have said that even without reaching out to voters, the party symbol ‘Shishu’ (rice sheaf) will secure a large victory. But I personally believe this election is crucial. Sitting idle will not suffice—we must reach out to everyone. Our goal is to win by a wide margin in all seven constituencies of Bogura,” he said.
Tarique Rahman also noted, “I have come to you many times in the past. This time I am contesting from Bogura-6. However, I cannot personally manage the entire election campaign, as I am needed across the country for party activities. That responsibility is now yours.”
The discussion was chaired by Bogura District BNP President Rezaul Karim (Badsha) and moderated by district organizational secretaries Shahid-un-Nabi and Khairul Bashar. Other participants included BNP Chairman’s advisors and former Bogura city mayor AKM Mahbubur Rahman, former MP Helaluzzaman Talukdar, central executive committee members and former Bogura district leaders Saiful Islam and Zainal Abedin, as well as Ali Azgar Talukdar, Bogura City BNP President Hamidul Haque Chowdhury, and Bogura Sadar Upazila BNP President Maftun Ahmed Khan.
