Prime Minister Tarique Rahman began work at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon for the first time on Saturday since assuming office, marking his third working day as head of government. Earlier in the week, on Wednesday and Thursday, he carried out official duties at the Secretariat following his oath-taking as prime minister.
He arrived at the Tejgaon office at 10:10am, where he was received by Principal Secretary A.B.M. Abdus Sattar and Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Rumon.
Before entering the main building, the prime minister spoke with officials and employees who had served during the tenure of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, asking about their well-being and work. He personally called several long-serving staff members by name and exchanged greetings with them.
Inside the premises, Tarique Rahman planted a sapling of a golden champa flower and offered special prayers, expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah. His Defence Adviser, Brigadier General (retd.) Shamsul Islam, along with other officials, was present at the time.
Later, he unveiled a commemorative postage stamp marking Shaheed Day and International Mother Language Day at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon.
