Finance Minister Highlights a Different Spirit in This Year’s Eid

Finance and Planning Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury has pointed out that this year’s Eid feels noticeably different compared to previous years. He said the current environment in the country, which he described as more democratic, has brought a renewed sense of joy and ownership among the people, especially following the recent election.

He made these remarks on Saturday morning after offering Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at Darus Salam Jame Mosque in North Kattoli, Pahartali, in Chattogram. After the prayer, he also visited his parents’ graves at a nearby family cemetery.

According to the minister, while Eid always brings happiness, this year people seem to be experiencing an added sense of celebration. He expressed hope that the country would continue in this positive direction, where citizens can live freely, express their opinions openly, and fully exercise their constitutional, democratic, and political rights.

He further noted that without a free and open environment, people cannot truly enjoy the spirit of Eid.

Extending his Eid greetings to the nation, he emphasized the importance of maintaining love and unity among people. He expressed his wish that this spirit of harmony continues across Bangladesh, regardless of differences in religion or community, and wished everyone a joyful Eid.
