The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced the appointment of four new members to its National Standing Committee, the party’s highest policymaking body.

According to a party statement issued on Saturday, the move is aimed at strengthening organizational activities and enhancing strategic decision-making within the party.

The newly appointed members are senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, chairperson’s adviser Aman Ullah Aman, former acting convener of Dhaka North BNP Farhad Halim, and chairperson’s adviser Md. Ismail Zabiullah.

BNP said it expects the newly appointed leaders to contribute their experience, judgment, and expertise in helping the party make important decisions on issues affecting both the organization and the public.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has long served as one of the party’s most prominent spokespersons and senior organizational leaders. Aman Ullah Aman previously held key leadership responsibilities in Dhaka North BNP, while Farhad Halim also played an important role within the same organizational unit. Ismail Zabiullah currently serves as an adviser on public administration to the Prime Minister.

The BNP Standing Committee was last restructured following the party’s national council in March 2016. Over the years, several positions became vacant due to deaths, resignations, and other changes in leadership. The latest appointments fill some of those vacancies and further strengthen the party’s top decision-making forum.
