BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was personally driven to a clinic by her son, Tarique Rahman, upon her arrival at Heathrow Airport. Local time on Wednesday, at approximately 10:15 AM, Tarique Rahman departed for The Clinic in central London with his mother. They reached the hospital around 11:00 AM, accompanied by Tarique's wife, Dr. Zubaida Rahman.
A video released by BNP's media cell shows Tarique driving the car with his wife in the front passenger seat and his mother, Khaleda Zia, seated in the back.
Khaleda Zia’s air ambulance landed at Heathrow International Airport around 9:00 AM local time (3:00 PM in Bangladesh). Tarique Rahman, his wife, and their daughter, Zaima Rahman, greeted her at the airport. It was an emotional reunion after seven years, as Tarique embraced his mother, and Zubaida was also deeply moved to see her mother-in-law. Khaleda Zia was then taken to a clinic in London, as confirmed by Shamsuddin Didar from the BNP chairperson's press wing.
Earlier, the air ambulance had landed in Doha, Qatar, at 6:00 AM Bangladesh time for a two-and-a-half-hour layover before departing for London. On Tuesday night at 11:45 PM, Khaleda Zia had departed Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a special air ambulance arranged by the Emir of Qatar.
