BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's eldest son, Tarique Rahman, has requested prayers for his mother’s recovery. On Friday, the acting chairman of the BNP visited his ailing mother at the London Clinic, a specialized hospital in Central London, accompanied by his wife, Zubaida Rahman.
While speaking to reporters waiting outside the hospital, Tarique Rahman refrained from making any detailed comments, aside from urging the public to pray for his mother. He said, "When you speak of my mother, it’s natural to ask the nation to pray for her. She is a leader of the people, and as her son, I ask everyone to keep her in their prayers."
Reports suggest that Khaleda Zia's medical board was scheduled to convene later that night. Alongside Tarique and Zubaida Rahman, doctors from the London Clinic and Bangladesh were expected to participate, with medical experts from the Johns Hopkins Hospital in the United States joining virtually.
Khaleda Zia has been battling multiple health issues, including liver cirrhosis, kidney complications, diabetes, and arthritis. Her personal physician, Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, previously stated that all medical reports would be available by January 17. She continues to receive treatment at the London Clinic.
