BNP Standing Committee member Salauddin Ahmed warned that if the interim government fails to announce a national election roadmap within this month, democratic political parties will take necessary political action.
Speaking at a book launch event, he stressed the urgency of the matter, urging the chief adviser to immediately clarify and declare the election roadmap. He cautioned that if the government delays for any reason, democratic forces will take the initiative to determine the course of action themselves.
Salauddin also criticized calls for a Constituent Assembly or a Second Republic, arguing that those raising such issues either fail to grasp the political reality or are deliberately attempting to delay the democratic process.
