BNP's Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman stated that discussions on any matter could take place for the betterment of the people and the country. He emphasized that the party has fought for a meaningful change, focusing on establishing people's right to vote and freedom of speech. Tarique welcomed the ongoing discussions on reforms, noting that his party had presented such ideas two and a half years ago. Speaking virtually from London at an Iftar and prayer event organized by the Nationalist Democratic Movement in Gulshan, Dhaka, he remarked that while constructive criticism is necessary, it should not overshadow the country's issues. He called for discussions not only on governance, electoral systems, and constitutional frameworks, but also on practical solutions to the people's problems. Tarique stressed that the main issue was democracy, where citizens' rights to voice their opinions would be protected. He also pointed out that political parties, after 15 years of struggle, had successfully worked to restore the rights of the people, which had been taken away unjustly. The event was chaired by NDM Chairman Babi Hajjaj, with several other leaders in attendance.
