BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir stated that the country is going through a difficult period and that there is no clear path back to democracy. Speaking at an Iftar gathering hosted by the BNP in honor of political parties at the Ladies Club in Eskaton, Dhaka, on Wednesday (March 19), he emphasized the need for strong unity to achieve a truly democratic Bangladesh, referencing the aspirations linked to the July uprising.
Mirza Fakhrul mentioned that the Reform Commission is actively working with the people's aspirations in mind. He also pointed out that misinformation is being spread and stressed that there is no alternative to returning to democracy. The BNP continues to call for swift elections where elected representatives will determine the necessary reforms.
