BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has traveled to Bangkok, Thailand, for medical treatment, accompanied by his wife, Rahat Ara Begum. He departed from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2:45 AM on Monday (May 12) via a Thai Airways flight. According to BNP’s media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan, Fakhrul is scheduled to undergo eye surgery at Rutnin Eye Hospital in Bangkok due to retinal complications. The decision for overseas treatment was made following consultations with doctors at United Hospital in Gulshan, where he was taken earlier due to eye problems. Shayrul stated that the surgery was deemed urgent. Notably, Fakhrul and his wife had previously traveled to Singapore on April 6 this year for medical reasons.
