In the first 23 days of this month (June), expatriates sent 205 million US dollars to the country.

This information was revealed on Tuesday (25 June) by Bangladesh Bank sources.

Those concerned say that expatriates have sent a huge amount of money since the beginning of this month due to Eid-ul-Azha. As a result, the country's remittance flow has increased. If this trend continues, a record amount of remittances may come in this month.

Earlier, in January of this year, 210 million dollars, 216 million dollars in February, 1996 million dollars in March, 204 million dollars in April and 225 million dollars were sent by expatriates in May.

According to Central Bank data, in January 2023, expatriates sent remittances of 195.88 million dollars. Apart from this, 156 crores in February, 202 crores in March, 168 crores in April, 169 crores in May, 220 crores in June, 197 crores in July, 159 crores 94 lakhs in August, 133 crores in September, 197 crores in October, 193 crores in November and 193 crores in December 199 billion dollar remittance.

It should be noted that in the fiscal year 2020-21, the highest remittance in the history of the country was two thousand 477 million dollars.
