Bangladesh Bank canceled the ban on entry of journalists

Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rauf Talukder did not attend office on Tuesday, a day after Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and left the country. The ban on journalists entering Bangladesh Bank has been announced by the central bank amid rumors of the governor’s attempt to leave the country. Deputy Governor Kazi Saidur Rahman gave this information in an exchange meeting with journalists yesterday.
Deputy Governor, Kazi Chaidur Rahman, Noorun Nahar, Md. Khurshid Alam, Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman and Executive Director Mejbaul Haque were present. A delegation of journalists led by ERF President Mohammad Refayet Ullah Mirdha and General Secretary Abul Kashem went to the Central Bank. The meeting also discussed about overcoming the current crisis in the financial sector.
Kazi Chaidur Rahman said that the governor did not come to the office because he was feeling a little sick. However, I spoke to him on the phone. Everyone asked to continue their work. They all discussed and decided to withdraw the ban on entry of journalists. From now on, journalists can enter by entering the account as before. He also said that journalists are the conscience of the nation. The objectives of the central bank and the objectives of the journalists are the same. Together we want to take the country to a better position. However, for whatever reason, journalists could not enter for some days.
