The government has canceled the National Mourning Day holiday on August 15. In continuation of this, bank and financial institutions will be open on this day. Transactions of banks and financial institutions will continue as usual.
On Wednesday, two separate instructions have been issued from the Department of Offsite Supervision and the Financial Institutions and Markets Department of the Central Bank.
According to the directive, the Ministry of Public Administration canceled the National Mourning Day holiday on August 15 through an order on August 13. Due to this, all scheduled banks will be open as usual on this day.
The Central Bank has issued this directive under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991.
