Chief Advisor of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, laid the foundation stone of the Shompriti Bhaban at the International Buddhist Monastery in Merul Badda, Dhaka. The ceremony took place on Sunday morning, April 13. After unveiling the foundation stone, he visited the prayer hall located within the monastery and interacted with members of the Buddhist community.
Established in 1981, the International Buddhist Monastery has played a vital role in preserving the religion, culture, and heritage of Buddhists in Bangladesh, as well as in promoting and spreading the teachings of the Dhamma.
