On the occasion of Janmashtami on Friday (16 August), Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus conveyed a message highlighting the importance of social unity and communal harmony. He extended his heartfelt greetings and congratulations to all followers of traditional religions in the country.
Dr. Yunus stated that “Janmashtami, the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, is one of the most significant religious festivals for the Hindu community. Throughout his life, Lord Krishna promoted justice, love for humanity, and peace. Wherever he witnessed injustice, he appeared to protect goodness from the forces of evil.”
He added that “communal harmony is a unique feature of our culture. For generations, the people of this country have maintained peaceful coexistence while practicing their respective religions.”
Referring to Krishna’s ideals and teachings, Dr. Yunus emphasized that mutual respect and brotherhood can strengthen the bonds of social harmony. He called on everyone to work together to build a new, equitable Bangladesh that thrives on communal peace and equality.
