The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main capital market, ended trading on Sunday (April 20) — the first business day of the week — with a decline in key indices, though the overall transaction volume saw a slight increase compared to the previous session. According to DSE sources, the benchmark DSEX index dropped by 22.95 points, closing at 5,074. The Shariah-based DSES index also fell by 8.30 points to settle at 1,135, while the DS30 index shed 2.88 points to end at 1,872.
On this day, the total turnover at the DSE stood at Tk 351.08 crore, slightly up from Tk 339.29 crore recorded in the previous session. Out of 396 traded companies, share prices increased for 101, declined for 243, and remained unchanged for 52.
