A protest rally was held today in the Demra Staff Quarter transportation sector of Dhaka against extortion, terrorism, and disorder in the transport system. The event, organized under the directive of the Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association, aimed to ensure discipline in road transport.

The rally, held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, featured Abdul Hai Pallab, Vice President of the Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association, as the chief guest. Other prominent attendees included Mohammad Zakir Hossain, former General Secretary of the Dhaka College Chhatra Dal, MD of Bikash Transport, and Joint Convener of the Asmani Transport Owners' Management Committee; Md. Rafiqul Islam, President of the 69th Ward BNP; and Md. Monir Hossain Khan, a key leader of Demra Thana BNP and former General Secretary of Demra Thana Chhatra Dal.

Also in attendance were Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Member Secretary of the Asmani Transport Owners' Management Committee; Mohammad Saikat Sarkar, Managing Director of Somoy Transport Limited and a member of the Asmani Transport Management Committee; and several other committee members, including Nizam Ahmed Sahel, Ekramul Haque, Saiful Islam Shobuj, Mohammad Russell Sarkar, Mohammad Saikat Sarkar, Md. Monir Hossain Khan, Russell Khan Rakib, Hamid Ullah Sumon, Md. Robiul Islam, and S.M. Faruk Matabbor.

Notable leaders from Demra Thana's affiliated organizations also participated, including former General Secretary of Demra Thana Chhatra Dal, Taj Mahmud, and former Secretary for Textile Affairs of the Central Volunteer Party, Mohammad Farid Hossain.
