Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman has ordered roadside tea and cigarette shops in the capital to be closed by 11 pm to prevent robbery and crime.

He gave this order at the March crime review meeting at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh on Sunday.

The DMP Commissioner said that the shops at the road junction should be closed at night to prevent robbery and crime. It is often seen that criminals hang out all night in these makeshift shops and rob whenever they get a chance. So roadside beedi, pan and tea shops should be closed after 11 pm.

He said that everyone should be careful so that no terrorist and militant group can do any kind of terrorist activities. Strict action should be taken against such criminal gangs.

The DMP Commissioner said that if a car with a police sticker is seen on the road, the police on duty must verify that it is actually a police officer’s car. Because by affixing police sticker or DMP logo on the vehicle, the movement information of the terrorists has been obtained. If it is verified that it is not a police car, then strict legal action should be taken against him. Crime and traffic department of DMP will keep an eye on this matter.
