Air pollution continues to rise in various countries due to climate change and other factors. On Wednesday, March 26, Dhaka ranked third on the global air pollution index, with an air quality score of 198, which is classified as "unhealthy." The most polluted city was Delhi, India, with a score of 238.
According to IQAir, a Switzerland-based air quality monitoring platform, the air quality index (AQI) measures real-time pollution levels in cities worldwide. Under IQAir's classification, an AQI score between 0-50 is considered "good," while 51-100 is "moderate" or acceptable. Scores between 101-150 are deemed "unhealthy for sensitive groups," while 151-200 is categorized as "unhealthy." A reading between 201-300 is considered "very unhealthy," and anything above 301 is labeled as "hazardous."
