Students from Mohammadpur and Badda areas of Dhaka have organized protests, including human chains and marches, to protest against Israel's aggression in Gaza. The students called for the cessation of the Israeli attacks that have resulted in over 50,000 deaths, including men, women, and children. Millions of people have been displaced, and vital infrastructure, including hospitals, mosques, and schools, has been destroyed. Despite ceasefire calls during the holy month of Ramadan, Israel continued its attacks.

The students, expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza, also participated in a protest march that began at Mohammadpur and passed through Asadgate, ultimately ending at Manik Mia Avenue. This was part of a global campaign under the banner 'The World Stops for Gaza,' with protests taking place across the country.

The protests are a response to a call for a global strike on April 7, initiated by the Palestinian National and Islamic Forces group, which was formed after the beginning of the second Intifada and was approved by Yasser Arafat and led by Marwan Barghouti. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, this protest movement has gained international attention, with calls for worldwide action to end the suffering in Gaza.
