A Singapore-bound Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight made an emergency return to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport shortly after takeoff on Friday morning, June 27. The flight, designated BG 584, was operated with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
According to a press release issued by the airline, the aircraft returned due to a technical issue. Although no foreign object or bird was found during a runway inspection, blood stains were later discovered on the engine cowling, suggesting a possible bird strike.
A replacement flight with the same flight number, BG 584, eventually departed from the airport at 1:45 PM, carrying 154 passengers.
