Members of the Bangladesh Air Force have been recovering evidence from the crash site at Milestone School and College in Uttara's Diabari area, where a training fighter jet went down on Monday (July 21).
From early Tuesday morning (July 22), Air Force personnel began collecting various pieces of debris and critical evidence from the scene following the official end of the Fire Service’s rescue operation. They were seen carefully retrieving parts from the wreckage and transporting them away for further analysis.
The crash site, where the F-7 BGI aircraft hit the ground, remains cordoned off and secured by law enforcement to ensure proper handling of the investigation.
The fighter jet crashed into the lower floors of the Sector 2 Haider Ali Building of Milestone School and College—right in front of the classrooms for third and fourth grade. The aircraft slammed through the outer walls and ended up inside the classrooms, causing devastating destruction.
Moments after the crash, a massive explosion followed, rapidly igniting a fire that spread throughout the area. The school’s main entrance was blocked by flames and debris, leaving students and teachers trapped inside.
As of now, Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman, Special Health Advisor to the Chief Advisor, has confirmed that among the 27 casualties reported so far, 25 are children.
