In the first four days of January 2025, Bangladesh received remittances totaling $226.7 million, averaging $56.6 million per day. According to Bangladesh Bank's updated data, $7.22 million came through state-owned banks, $1.11 million through specialized banks, $143.99 million through private banks, and $440,000 via foreign banks. In December 2024, a record $2.64 billion in remittances was received, marking the highest amount ever recorded in a single month. Throughout 2024, the total remittance inflow reached $26.89 billion. In January, February, and March, remittances amounted to $2.11 billion, $2.16 billion, and $1.99 billion, respectively. In April, it was $2.04 billion, while in May, it rose to $2.25 billion. June saw the highest monthly inflow of $2.54 billion, though it declined to $1.91 billion in July. In August, the inflow increased to $2.22 billion, followed by $2.40 billion in September, $2.39 billion in October, $2.20 billion in November, and the record-setting $2.64 billion in December.
