Gold prices in Bangladesh have fallen once again, marking the second consecutive day of price reductions and offering some relief to buyers.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the latest adjustment on Tuesday morning, stating that the new rates became effective from 10:00 a.m.
According to BAJUS, the price of pure gold has declined in the local market, prompting a review and adjustment of retail rates.
New Gold Prices
Under the revised pricing structure:
22-carat gold: Tk228,556 per bhori (11.664 grams), down by Tk2,216
21-carat gold: Tk218,292 per bhori
18-carat gold: Tk187,440 per bhori
Traditional-method gold: Tk153,148 per bhori
BAJUS said the prices include applicable VAT. However, jewelry-making charges and design-related costs will be added separately depending on the type of ornament.
Silver Prices Also Reduced
Alongside gold, silver prices have also been lowered.
The updated silver rates are:
22-carat silver: Tk4,316 per bhori
21-carat silver: Tk4,141 per bhori
18-carat silver: Tk3,558 per bhori
Traditional-method silver: Tk2,683 per bhori
Market Watch
The latest adjustment comes amid ongoing fluctuations in precious metal prices, with local rates often influenced by movements in international markets and changes in the domestic cost of raw gold.
Jewelry buyers and investors are expected to closely monitor whether the downward trend continues in the coming days.
