On Sunday, the first working day of the week, trading at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended with a significant drop in the benchmark indices. According to DSE sources, prices fell for 270 companies—approximately 68% of the listed firms. The overall trading volume also declined compared to the previous session.
Total turnover stood at Tk 414.31 crore, marking a decrease of Tk 125.84 crore from Thursday’s figure of Tk 540.16 crore. The DSEX, DSE’s main index, dropped by 35 points to close at 5,169. Meanwhile, the DS30 index fell by 15 points to 1,911, and the Shariah-based DSES index also declined by 15 points.
Out of 397 companies and mutual funds traded on the DSE, prices rose for 79, declined for 270, and remained unchanged for 48.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also witnessed a downward trend, with the CASPI index dropping by 38 points. Trading volume at the CSE totaled Tk 15 crore.
