
In the first 10 days of May 2025, Bangladesh received approximately $903.49 million in remittances, according to updated figures from Bangladesh Bank released on Monday, May 12. At an exchange rate of 122 taka per dollar, this amounts to around Tk 11,021 crore. This means an average of over $90 million in remittance inflows per day.
Of the total received so far this month, $279 million came through state-owned banks, $98.15 million through specialized banks, $533.65 million via private commercial banks, and $1.61 million through foreign bank branches operating in the country.
During the seven-day period from May 4 to 10 alone, remittances totaled $815.97 million, while the first three days of May saw $87.52 million sent by expatriates.
March 2025 marked a historic high for remittance inflows, reaching $3.289 billion (Tk 40,138 crore), making it the highest monthly figure in Bangladesh’s history. April followed as the second-highest, with $2.751 billion, and February saw $2.527 billion. January recorded $2.185 billion.
