Fewer students secure GPA-5 this year

GPA-5 Achievers Drop Sharply in 2025 HSC Results
A total of 69,097 students across Bangladesh have secured GPA-5 in this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations, marking a significant decline from last year’s 145,911 top scorers.
This means the number of GPA-5 achievers has decreased by 76,814 compared to 2024.
The results were released at 10 a.m. on Thursday (October 16), simultaneously by all education boards. Students can access their results through their respective institutions, board websites, or via SMS.
Average Pass Rate 58.83%
This year’s overall pass rate stands at 58.83%, according to official data. The statistics also show that 202 educational institutions across the country recorded a zero pass rate, whereas the figure was 65 last year.
Dhaka Board Leads, Cumilla Trails
Among the nine general education boards, Dhaka Board posted the highest pass rate at 64.62%, while Cumilla Board recorded the lowest, at 48.86%.

How to Check Results
Students can access their results in several ways:

Online via Education Board Websites:
Go to the respective education board’s website and click on the Result section. Institutions can download result sheets using their EIIN number. -
Institutional Access:
Students can collect results directly from their schools or colleges through the combined education board web portal. -
Via SMS:
After results are published, typeHSC <space> BoardName (first 3 letters) <space> Roll <space> Year
and send it to 16222.
Example:HSC DHA 123456 2025→ send to 16222.
The education boards have clarified that results will not be available at board offices, the Education Ministry, or newspaper offices.
Exam Overview
The 2025 HSC and equivalent exams began on June 26. Written tests concluded on August 19, while practical exams ran from August 21 to 31.
A total of 1,251,111 candidates from 11 education boards appeared in this year’s examinations.
