Extended Holidays for the Rest of 2025: Government Calendar Highlights

 

With four months remaining in 2025, employees can look forward to several more holidays. Some of these fall on Thursdays, offering the opportunity for three-day weekends.

According to the official 2025 government holiday calendar, employees will get a total of five additional holidays this year. Of these, four are regular holidays, while one has been declared through an executive order.

The regular holidays include:

Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi – Saturday, September 6

Durga Puja – Wednesday, October 1 & Thursday, October 2

Victory Day – Tuesday, December 16

Christmas – Thursday, December 25

October 1 has been declared a holiday through an executive order. During Durga Puja, with the combination of the weekend (Friday and Saturday) and official holidays, employees will enjoy a four-day break.

Earlier this year, the longest holidays were during the two Eids. Eid-ul-Fitr offered a continuous 9-day holiday from March 28 to April 5, while Eid-ul-Azha brought a 10-day break from June 5 to June 14.
