Deputy Governor Noorun Nahar will look after the governor’s daily calls temporarily

Four deputy governors and Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) chief are returning to Bangladesh Bank. Deputy Governor Noorun Nahar will look after the governor’s daily calls until the new governor is appointed. The matter has been informed to Bangladesh Bank in an office order signed by Afsana Bilkis, Deputy Secretary of the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance on Sunday.

After the fall of the government, four deputy governors and the head of the BFIU left the central bank in the face of protests last Wednesday. They are – Kazi Chaidur Rahman, Nurun Nahar, Khurshid Alam and Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman. Among these, Kazi Chaidur Rahman signed the resignation letter on a white paper under the pressure of angry officials. BFIU chief Masood Biswas of deputy governor rank has left the bank.

According to the office order, due to the resignation of Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rauf Talukder, the Deputy Governors of Bangladesh Bank will carry out their daily activities in their respective fields in order to continue the daily activities from August 11 until the new governor joins.

It also said that Deputy Governor Noorun Nahar will look at the governor’s daily mail and send it to the concerned department.
