During the global premiere of Netflix's The Electric State at The Egyptian Theatre Hollywood in Los Angeles, directors Joe and Anthony Russo shared insights with Deadline about the much-anticipated Marvel films Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, slated for release in 2026 and 2027. Joe Russo revealed that filming is taking place in London, with the movies being shot nearly back-to-back. He hinted at the challenges involved, stating that the project is both exciting and demanding, pushing them creatively. When asked about the inclusion of characters from the X-Men universe or Deadpool, Joe remained elusive, while Anthony playfully suggested that fans could envision anyone they wished. Meanwhile, The Electric State star Chris Pratt teased the possibility of a cameo, acknowledging fans' eagerness for his return. The Russo Brothers also reflected on how they had to reframe Avengers: Endgame from a concluding chapter into a stepping stone for future stories, a realization that emerged unexpectedly. The new Avengers films will reunite them with screenwriter Steven McFeely. Last year’s Comic-Con also delivered a major surprise—the return of Robert Downey Jr., who will portray the villainous Doctor Doom after Iron Man’s sacrifice. In the meantime, The Electric State, an adaptation of Simon Stålenhag’s sci-fi graphic novel, will arrive on Netflix on March 14, following a teenager, played by Millie Bobby Brown, as she searches for her missing brother in a retro-futuristic 1990s America, accompanied by a robot he sent to guide her. The film's ensemble cast includes Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, Giancarlo Esposito, and Chris Pratt.
