On the evening of New Year’s Day, a shooting in Queens, New York, left ten people injured. According to the NYPD, the incident occurred outside a private event club, where three to four individuals opened fire into a crowd gathered outside. The injured, including six women and four men, are expected to recover. Authorities ruled out the possibility of terrorism and noted the investigation is ongoing.
This incident follows two other violent attacks earlier that day in the United States. In New Orleans, Louisiana, a man drove a truck into a crowd during a New Year’s celebration, killing 15 people. Meanwhile, in Las Vegas, an explosion involving a Tesla truck outside the Trump Hotel left one person dead and seven injured. U.S. officials are investigating all incidents to determine if there are any links to terrorism.
