Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed has formed two new benches to conduct hearings in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. The updated cause list, published on the Supreme Court's official website on Sunday (April 20), reveals the composition of the new benches.
According to the list, the first bench, presided over by the Chief Justice himself, includes Justices Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury, Md. Rezaul Haque, and Farah Mahbub.
The second bench comprises Justices Md. Ashfaqul Islam, S.M. Emdadul Haque, and A.K.M. Asaduzzaman.
Earlier, on March 24, two High Court Division judges—Justice A.K.M. Asaduzzaman and Justice Farah Mahbub—were elevated to the Appellate Division. They were formally sworn in the following morning at 10:30 AM in the Judges’ Lounge of the Supreme Court, with the oath administered by Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed.
