The results of the MCQ (first phase) examination for lawyer enrollment under the Bangladesh Bar Council have been published, with a total of 13,258 candidates passing the test. The results were officially released on Friday night (April 25) through the Bar Council's website. Details regarding the written examination schedule for the successful candidates will be announced later.
The Bar Council, which oversees the certification process for legal professionals in Bangladesh, conducted the MCQ exam from 3 PM to 4 PM on Friday, with 40,627 candidates participating. To become a certified lawyer, candidates must pass a three-step process: MCQ, written, and viva examinations. After completing a law degree, applicants are required to submit an intimation under the supervision of a senior lawyer with at least ten years of experience. Following a six-month period after submission, they become eligible to sit for the MCQ test. Those who pass move on to the written exam, and subsequently, to the viva. Successful candidates receive their certification and can officially join the legal profession by enrolling in a district bar association.
