A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on Mohammad Manjur Ahsan, the Chief Scientific Officer of the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, and his wife Nargis Khanam. The order was issued on Monday, May 5, by Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib following a petition by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Assistant Director Anisur Rahman. According to the ACC's submission, both Manjur and his wife are currently under investigation for allegedly acquiring wealth beyond known sources of income. Authorities expressed concern that the couple may attempt to flee the country, and the travel ban was sought to ensure an unhindered investigation.
