The International Crimes Tribunal on Tuesday (August 12) heard the second day of witness statements in the case concerning the deaths of six people — including student Anas — in Dhaka’s Chankharpul area during the July–August movement.
Former Shahbagh Police Inspector (currently suspended) Arshad, along with three constables — Sujon, Imaz Hossain Imon, and Nasirul — were produced before the court.
Former Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Habibur Rahman Habib and four other accused remain at large.
Separately, in the case related to the killing during the Hefazat rally on May 5, 2013, the tribunal brought in four accused, including former state minister for home affairs Shamsul Hoque Tuku and ex-army officer Ziaul Ahsan. In another case over the murder of Yamin in Savar, five accused, including Nayek Sohel and Zakir Hossain (alias Mama Zakir), were also presented before the tribunal.
