The government has initiated employment opportunities for those injured in the anti-discrimination student movement. In the first phase, 100 individuals will be employed in various police units.
This was announced by Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury during his visit to the headquarters of the Special Branch (SB) and the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday, January 7.
The advisor emphasized that the injured individuals face diverse challenges, requiring tailored job placements. He also mentioned that a proposal letter has been issued to recruit 1,000 students for traffic duties, with shifts of three to four hours. So far, 400 individuals have been included in this initiative.
Additionally, retired law enforcement personnel were invited to work in traffic duties, with a plan to recruit 500 individuals. However, the response has been below expectations, with only about 50 retirees showing interest so far.
