The northern regions of Bangladesh, along with five districts, are experiencing increased cold as a mild to moderate cold wave sweeps through these areas. However, temperatures in Dhaka and nearby regions are expected to rise during the day, with clear skies due to the absence of fog.
According to Md. Hafizur Rahman, a meteorologist at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, Dhaka is likely to experience cooler nights with gradually increasing daytime temperatures. Dense fog is not anticipated in the near future, allowing for warmer days in the capital and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, mild to moderate cold waves persist in northern districts and parts of Mymensingh and Sylhet. After a brief respite, another cold wave might follow.
The weather department's 72-hour forecast, released the previous night, predicts dry conditions across the country, with partly cloudy skies in some areas. Light to moderate fog may form in isolated locations from midnight to early morning. Additionally, the ongoing cold wave in districts like Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Jessore, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Moulvibazar, and Gopalganj may continue in some regions. A slight rise in both daytime and nighttime temperatures is expected during this period.
