The Meteorological Department has warned that thunderstorms and rain, with wind speeds of up to 60 km/h, may hit the Sylhet region. A severe storm is expected by midday.
In a weather advisory issued for inland river ports, effective until 1 PM on Wednesday, April 2, meteorologist Md. Tariful Newaz Kabir stated that temporary gusty or squally winds from the west or northwest, ranging from 45 to 60 km/h, could sweep over the Sylhet region, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms. As a precaution, river ports in these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number 1.
Additionally, another weather bulletin forecasts temporary gusty winds, lightning, or thunderstorms in some parts of the Sylhet division until the evening. The Meteorological Department also predicts an increase in rain and thunderstorms across the country in the coming week.
