Rain will increase next week, temperature will decrease : Meteorological Office

Many parts of the country are now rainless as the activity of southwest monsoon has reduced. However, heavy rains continue in some places. The weather department has said that the trend of rain may increase again in the country from next week.

According to the Meteorological Office, the trend of rain is more in the North, North-Eastern and South-Eastern parts of the country. Rainfall is less in central and southern regions.

From Sunday morning to Monday morning, the maximum rainfall of 63 mm in the last 24 hours was recorded in Panchagarh’s Tentulia.

Meanwhile, Dhaka has been rainless for the past few days. Vapsa heat is increasing in different parts of the country including the capital.

On Sunday, the highest temperature in the country was 36.4 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi. The maximum temperature in Dhaka was 34.8 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologist Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick said, the axis of the monsoon is extending through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam. An extension of it extends to the northern Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay of Bengal.

In the weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am on Monday, he said, light to moderate rain or thunder may occur in many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and in two or two places in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions. Along with this, there may be moderate to heavy rainfall at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.

At this time, the day and night temperature may remain almost unchanged across the country, he said.

Apart from this, the weather conditions on Tuesday and Wednesday may remain more or less the same. Precipitation with rain or thunder may increase in next five days. At the same time, the weather department has predicted that the temperature may drop slightly.
