Dr. Ali Riaz, Vice Chairman of the National Consensus Commission, has stated that the commission is not an opponent to any party. Speaking on Saturday (May 3) morning before a dialogue with the 12-party alliance at the LD Hall of the National Parliament, he emphasized that while differences among political parties are natural, all sides must be willing to speak from their own perspectives while also showing readiness to compromise for the greater national interest. He acknowledged that it may not be possible to agree on every issue, but believed consensus could still be reached on matters of nation-building. Dr. Riaz clarified that the commission has no defined adversarial role, and its core objective is to formulate a concrete national charter.
