Amid the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict, the Government of Bangladesh plans to bring back the first group of Bangladeshis from Tehran as early as next week. This information was shared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release on Sunday.
The statement noted that, due to the escalating war situation in Iran, the government has initiated necessary steps to repatriate all Bangladeshis who wish to return home. The repatriation process will be carried out with assistance from neighboring countries.
The Ministry is working to ensure that the first group of returnees arrives in Bangladesh by next week, with further groups expected to follow in phases. Coordination is ongoing with the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment regarding this process.
The Ministry urged all interested Bangladeshi citizens in Iran to register with the Bangladesh Embassy in Tehran by providing their names, addresses, and other required details.
For assistance, both returnees and their families in Bangladesh can contact the embassy or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the following hotlines (including WhatsApp):
