Chase and Counter-Chase: Students Confront Ansar Members Near Secretariat

A confrontation erupted between students and Ansar members in the Secretariat area, leading to a series of chases and counter-chases. At least 30 people from both sides were injured in the clash. The Ansar members eventually retreated under pressure from the students.

The conflict began around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, with both sides initially engaging in a back-and-forth chase and throwing stones at each other. At one point, the Ansar members fired several rounds in response.

Later, the students regrouped and marched back towards the Secretariat from the Topkhana area. Seeing the approaching students, the Ansar members began to flee from in front of the Secretariat. During their retreat, the sound of blank gunfire was heard, though the students allowed the Ansar members to escape safely.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Ansar members had made some heated remarks when spoken to, indicating rising tensions before the clash.
