National Consensus Commission Vice Chairman Dr. Ali Riaz stated that the commission aims to make significant progress this week, with three rounds of discussions scheduled. Speaking on Sunday morning (July 13) at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka during the 12th day of the second phase of talks with political parties, he emphasized the urgency of reaching a rational and agreeable outcome. He added that the commission is working swiftly toward drafting a national charter and hopes to reach a meaningful conclusion by July 30, or at the latest, by July 31. The agenda for the day’s discussions includes three key issues: the appointment of the Chief Justice, the structure of a caretaker government, and the imposition of a state of emergency.
